TAMA- Louise A. Quigley, age 78, of Tama died Friday, May 2, 2008 following a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 5, 2008 at 1:00 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with Pastor Ron Arends officiating. Interment will be at Prairie View Cemetery in Gilman. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 4 from 4 to 7 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.
Louise was born on November 17, 1929 in Gilman, Iowa the daughter of Oscar Ralph and Emma (Thompson) Westerfield. She graduated from Gilman High School. She married Lester Clinton Murty in 1946 and they later divorced. Louise then married Ronald Martin "Quig" Quigley on June 2, 1961 in Jackson MN. She worked as a homemaker, caring for her home and family. Louise was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She was also an avid Chicago Cubs fan. In her spare time, Louise enjoyed visiting with her friends, cooking, playing pepper, and watching soap operas. She especially enjoyed having her family all together.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ronald Martin "Quig" Quigley in 2001; son, Michael Ralph Murty; grandson, Tanner Jo Quigley; three brothers, Donald, Raymond, and William Westerfield; and two sisters, Gertrude Kaisand and Katherine Boldt.
Survivors include her children, Linda (Dave) Stone of Conrad, Lester Murty II of Bremerton, WA, and Ronald II "Marty" (Tammy) Quigley of Toledo; seventeen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Doris Thompson of LeGrand; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her family, she will be greatly missed by her dear friends.
