Maria De Jesus Valles-Herrera, 39, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2022 at her home in Toledo under the care of Iowa River Hospice. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at 10:30 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama with Father Michael McAndrew as celebrant. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 6, 2022, from 4-8 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.

Maria was born on June 4, 1983, in Durango, Mexico, the daughter of Juan Diego Valles and Guadalupe Herrera Garcia.

Maria worked at Iowa Premium Beef in Tama. She attended St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama. Maria enjoyed dancing and going out.

Survivors include her significant other, Cedrick Kazadi; two children, Annette Valles (Marc Maldonado) and Acxel Lopez all of Toledo; her parents, Juan Diego Valles and Guadalupe Herrera Garcia; siblings, Oscar Ricardo Valles Herrera, Kenya Valles, Yesenia Valles Herrera, Alberto Valles Herrera, Fidel Valles Herrera and Pina Valles Herrera; and many nieces and nephews.
