Marie B. Wacha's Obituary
Marie B. Wacha, 97, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Sunny Hill Care Center in Tama. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 10:30 AM Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 25, 2015 from 5-7 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home.
Marie was born on December 2, 1917 in Toledo, Iowa, the daughter of James and Mary (Ribby) Wacha.
She graduated from Toledo High School in 1935.
Marie taught five years in rural schools. She spent several years in Washington D.C. and in 1955 returned to Tama to work at the local grain elevator and later at the Juvenile Home in Toledo. She was an avid bowler and really enjoyed the tournaments. After retirement, she was care giver for her elderly parents.
Survivors include one sister, Genevieve Iezek of Dysart; two brothers, James Wacha of Tama and Roger (Joann) Wacha Sr. of Toledo; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Bernice Higginbotham, Lucille Jacobsen and Evelyn Bidwell.
A memorial fund has been established.
