Marilee Renee Sanache-Perez, 46, of Tama, passed away, Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at her daughter's home under the care of Hospice Compassus. A Traditional Wake will be held Thursday evening, January 14, 2021 at the Fox Clan Ceremonial Building on the Meskwaki Settlement in rural Tama. Traditional Graveside Services will be held Friday, January 15, 2021 at 2:00 PM at the Morgan Cemetery on the Settlement.

Marilee was born on January 4, 1975, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of Marlene Morgan. She grew up in Tama and graduated from Marshalltown High School in the Class of 1993.

She enjoyed baking, traveling, collecting angels and being with her family and kids. Her greatest joy was her sweet pea, Agustin.

Survivors include her husband, Pedro Perez of Tama; kids, Morgan Bear (Tyus Grant), Autumn Papakee, Azra Papakee, Maddix Sanache, and Miley Perez all of Tama; grandson, Agustin Frey of Tama; mother, Marlene Morgan of Tama; brothers, Michael Sanache, Gerald Sanache, Marland Sanache (Shelia Papakee), Anton Pushetonequa, Charlie Seymour, and Elliot Funmaker all of Tama; sisters, Jessica Funmaker of Tama, and Devona Thomas of Nebraska; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her brothers, George Sanache and Matthew Sanache; maternal grandmother, Clara Morgan; maternal grandfather, Gailey Morgan Sr; stepfather, Joseph Andrew Thomas.
