Mark Jay Lasley, 66, of Toledo, passed away Monday, February 7, 2022 at UnityPoint-Marshalltown Medical Center. Traditional Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at 2:00 PM at the Morgan Cemetery on the Meskwaki Settlement in rural Tama. A Traditional Wake will be held Tuesday evening at the Eagle Clan Ceremonial Building on the Meskwaki Settlement.

Mark was born on December 29, 1955, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of Jessup and Leila (Buffalo) Lasley.

He attended South Tama High School before entering the service. Mark served his country in the U.S. Marines where he was stationed overseas in Korea and Japan. He was always proud to have served in the Marines.

Mark enjoyed fishing, going to Powwows, dancing, playing pool, and visiting with friends and family. He especially enjoyed having breakfast with his family.

Survivors include his sisters, Peggy (Joe) Wanatee, Priscilla Wanatee, Eloise Lasley, Stella (Ray) Youngbear, Darlene Snowball, and Patsy Lasley; his twin brother, Clark Lasley; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, Gordon Lasley; sisters, Carmen Wanatee, Violet Cleveland, 1 ^st Eloise Lasley, and Nadine Big Bear.
