Obituary

TAMA-Marvin Wade Low, age 72, of Tama, died on Wednesday, February 14, 2007 at Grinnell Regional Medical Center following a sudden illness. Funeral Services will be held Monday, February 19, 2007 at 10:30 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with Pastor Dewey Grimes officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Tama. Visitation will be Sunday, February 18, 2007 from 5-7 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home.
Marvin Wade Low was born on April 26, 1934, in Tama, the son of Wade and Margaret (Kriegel) Low.
On October 7, 1954, he was united in marriage to Mary Jean Novotny.
After his discharge from the U.S. Army, Marvin returned to the Tama-Toledo area, where he worked for Martin Johnson's D-X in Toledo. He purchased the business in 1959. In 1979, Marvin moved his business to 100 North County Road in Toledo, which he still currently operated.
Marvin belonged to the former Tama-Toledo Jaycees. He enjoyed going to the Iowa State Fairs, tractor shows, auctions and farm sales.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Survivors include his wife Mary Jean of Tama; one daughter Connie Sue Low of Coralville; one brother George (Mary) Lowe of Tama; four sisters Darlene (Richard) Balvin of Chelsea, Phyllis (Jim) Wallace of Marshalltown, Delores Keys of Marshalltown, and Sharon Judge of Cedar Rapids.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established.
