MARSHALLTOWN-Mary Catherine Haan, age 57, of Marshalltown, died peacefully in her sleep Monday, January 5, 2009, at her home. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with Dr. Robert Watkins officiating. Memorial visitation will be held from 9:00-11:00 AM Thursday at the funeral home.
Mary was born on October 24, 1951 in Rock Rapids, Iowa the daughter of John and Catherine (Follett) Haan. She was a graduate of the University of Iowa and had worked as a social worker.
She was preceded in death by father, John Haan.
Survivors include a daughter, Rachel Fleenor of Davenport; mother, Catherine Haan of Toledo; companion, Phil De Toye of Marshalltown; brothers, John Haan of Des Moines, Gerald (Susan) Haan of Davenport, Thomas (Jan) Haan of Washington state, and Dr. James (Ami) Haan of Wichita, KS; a sister, Nancy Haan of Missouri; former husband Buryl Fleenor of Marshalltown; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
