Mary Lou Hall, 59, passed away on Monday, April 28, 2014 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 2, 2014 at 10:30 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Tama. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2014 from 5 - 8 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home.
Mary was born on October 27, 1954, in Lawton, OK, the daughter of Lyle and Shirley (Schultz) Medberry.
She graduated from Gladbrook High School in 1973 and later received her nursing certificate.
Mary served her country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
On June 22, 1985 she married James Hall in Marshalltown, Iowa. Mary was a CNA. She also worked as a dealer and entertainment organizer at the Meskwaki Bingo & Casino and was a teacher's aide at the South Tama High School. Mary was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the American Legion. She enjoyed crafts, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, James of Tama; three children, Travis (Heather) Starr of Little Rock, AR, Tony (Jennifer) Starr of Mt. Pleasant and Trista Hall of Des Moines; three grandchildren, Madison Lane Starr, Emma Rae and Myah Rae Starr; her siblings, Kathy (Brad) Pennington, Tom Medberry, Cherie (Shawn) Overton, Barb Wyatt, Henry Cowger, Karin Hablitzel, Bob Schultz and Don Herker; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and two brothers, Jim Medberry and Harry Eggers.
A memorial fund has been established.
