Obituary

Maxine Lillian Peska, 90, of Tama, passed away Friday, February 27, 2015 at Premier Estates of Toledo. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with Deacon Joe Behounek officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Tama. Visitation will be held prior to the service Wednesday, March 4, 2015 from 10-11 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.

Maxine was born on April 5, 1924 in Vining, Iowa, the daughter of Edward and Bessie (Zeman) Yilek.
On September 19, 1944, she was united in marriage to Leonard Russell Peska in Chelsea, Iowa.
Maxine worked at the STC High School Cafeteria as a cook. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama, Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary and Royal Neighbors. She enjoyed playing cards with friends and gardening. Maxine's greatest joy was going to her grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's activities.
Survivors include one daughter, Sharon (Rick) Huseboe of Marshalltown; one son, Darrell (Deb) Peska of Toledo; one granddaughter, Nannette (Phil) Beddow of Springfield, VA, two grandsons, Dustin (Sam) Peska of Tama and Derriss (Ashley) Peska of Cedar Rapids; three great-grandchildren, Zechary Beddow, Lakyr and Kinnyk Peska; one sister, Marilyn (Jim) Huff of Muscatine; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Leonard in 1978; two brothers, Edward Jr. and Leonard Yilek.
