TAMA- Michael Francis Callahan, 51, of Tama, passed away Friday, April 22, 2011 at his home under the care of Iowa River Hospice. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at 10:30 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Tama. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2011 from 5 to 7 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.
Michael was born on May 19, 1959 in Tama, Iowa, the son of Rondal and Delight (Plowman) Callahan.
He worked at the Career Development Partnership in Tama for many years.
Michael loved doing beads and latch work, music, horses and could be seen riding his bicycle everywhere. He enjoyed life and loved everyone he met. Michael had the ability to remember people and certain exact details about them. He was always on the go and was loved and will be missed by so many friends, as well as his family.
Preceding him in death were his father, Rondal Callahan; one brother, Richard Lynn Callahan; one sister, Rita Kay Malcomson; as well as his grandparents.
Survivors include his mother, Delight Callahan of Tama; his sister, Deb (Jeff) Roberts of Tama; his brother, Tim (Patty) Callahan of Tama; his brother-in-law, Dan Malcomson of Newton; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial fund has been established.
