Michael A. Davenport, 74, of Denver, CO and formerly of Tama, passed away and was found Wednesday, December 11, 2024 at his home. A Traditional Wake will be held Thursday, December 19, 2024 at the Fox Clan Ceremonial Building on the Meskwaki Settlement in rural Tama. A Traditional Graveside Service will be held Friday, December 20, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Meskwaki Cemetery in rural Tama.

Michael was born on July 8, 1950, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of Martin and Louise (Morgan) Davenport.

He graduated from South Tama County High School and then attended Denver Metro College. Michael was an avid sports fan. He loved to watch the Denver Bronco's and college sports, especially the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Survivors include his children, Larry, Jared, Brooke and Tara; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; siblings, Diana Kearney, Bernadine Lasley, Staphne Whitebreast, Marilyn McKee, Victoria Chavez, Marcio Nino, and Loren Davenport.

He was preceded in death by Michael, Larry, Robert, Merlin, and Katherine.
