TAMA-Michael Hollis Real, 64, of Tama, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2011 at his home in Tama under the care of Iowa River Hospice. A Memorial Visitation will be held Thursday, November 3, 2011 from 5 – 6 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama. Interment will be private.
Michael was born on June 17, 1947, in Eugene, Oregon, the son of Hollis and Carol (Growleau) Real.
On July 4, 1982, he was united in marriage to Linda Jordan Tesar. Michael was the founder of the 3rd Street Band in Tama and played with various other groups throughout his career. He was a talented natural musician and lived for his music.
Preceding him in death was his mother; a brother in infancy; and a sister, Peggy.
Survivors include his wife, Linda of Tama; his father, Hollis Real of Medford, Oregon; a sister, Tony Oberdorfer of Medford, Oregon; a niece, Tara; and a nephew, Brian.
A memorial fund has been established.
