Obituary

Monty Carl Speck, 54, of Le Grand, passed away Friday, April 3, 2020 at his home in Le Grand. Due to state and federal guidance on gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family will not be having a public memorial at this time.

Monty was born on January 1, 1966, in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Donald Eugene and Edna Mae (Moore) Speck.

He graduated from South Tama High School in 1984.

Monty had worked as a mechanic and also did body work. He enjoyed racing, especially dirt track racing. Monty also liked old cars.

Survivors include one son, Floyd (Amanda Reed) Speck of Tama; one daughter, Chastine Speck of Tama; two brothers, Rick (Lori) Speck of Gilman, and James (Katie) Hainline of Eldora; two sisters, Kathy (Bob) Craun of Toledo, and Gloria (Dave) Stanton of Marshalltown; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one daughter, Kindra Speck; one granddaughter, Kendra Speck; one sister and brother-in-law, Diane and George Davis.

A memorial fund will be established.
