September 5, 1934 – February 21, 2025
Norman Joseph Dvorak, 90, of Toledo, passed away Friday, February 21, 2025 at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown. Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 26, 2025 from 4-7 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with a Celebration of Life Service following at 7:00 PM. A Private Family Interment will be held at Haven Cemetery in rural Tama at a future date.
Norman was born on September 5, 1934, in Tama County, Iowa, the son of Milo and Edith (Hlavacek) Dvorak.
Norman graduated from Chelsea High School in 1952 and farmed his whole life on the family farm.
Norman enjoyed spending time with his family, attending his grandkids' sporting events, staying at the river, car rides, naps, and a good meal. He loved to socialize and the name "Flash" will always be legendary.
Survivors include four children, Deb (Doug) Dolezal of Toledo, Sherry Anderson of Cedar Falls, Tom Dvorak of Haven, and Kellie (Scott) Yuska of Urbandale; sister, Betty Jean Upah of Tama; grandkids, Darron (Elizabeth) Dolezal, Deanna (Mike) Zmolek, Darcy (Graham) Suchman, Tasha (Kyle) Dehmlow, Logan and Cale Dvorak, Nathan and Breana Yuska; twelve great grandchildren. Also left to cherish his memory are DalLynn (Bruce) McEltree, Diane (Mike) Tower, Devin, Dallas, Dustin, Dirk and their families.
Preceding him in death were his parents; longtime companion, Maralyn Hotchkiss; grandson, Brandon Anderson; and sister, Karen McBride.
A memorial fund will be established.
