Obituary

MONTOUR-Norman Carl Eberhart, 77, of Montour, passed away Monday, May 16, 2011 at Sunny Hill Care Center in Tama under the care of Iowa River Hospice. Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 20, 2011 at 10:30 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 19, 2011 from 6 to 8 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.
Norman was born July 11, 1933, in Toledo, Iowa, the son of George and Tina (Steuhm) Eberhart.
On October 21, 1960, he was united in marriage to Linda Sullivan in Toledo, Iowa. Norman worked at Gra-Iron Foundry in Marshalltown until it closed. He then worked at Swifts in Marshalltown and drove a taxi until retirement. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Norman was a volunteer for the Montour Fire Department. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards and driving around town in his golf cart as well as taking trips in the car.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and a son, Ronald in infancy.
Survivors include his wife, Linda of Montour; two sons, Bill (Susan) Eberhart of Montour and Roger (Paula) Eberhart of Montour; four grandchildren, Krystal (Nick Peshel), Bryce, Kayla and Paige Eberhart; a step-granddaughter, Jayme Wilkening of Marshalltown; one great-granddaughter, Naomi Peshel; a step great-granddaughter, Kyla Wilkening; two sisters, Betty Smith of Tama and Elaine (John) Atchison of Coeur d'Alene, ID; and several nieces and nephews.
