Obituary

Norman D. Hagge, 78, of Toledo, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at Sunny Hill Care Center in Tama under the care of Hospice Compassus. Funeral Services will be held Friday, February 13, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Sheridan Methodist Church in rural Malcom with Pastor Christine Pauley officiating. Interment will follow at the Sheridan Cemetery in rural Malcom. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2015 from 5-7 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.


Norman was born on January 21, 1937, in rural Poweshiek County, Iowa, the son of Elmer and Flossie (Miller) Hagge.
He graduated from Tama High School in 1955.
On November 25, 1960, he was united in marriage to Janice Harris at the Sheridan Methodist Church in rural Malcom, Iowa. Norman was a carpenter and farmer. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and woodworking. He liked to tinker on various projects around the farm.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-four years, Janice of Toledo; his children, Norma (Danny) Schuett of Tama, Sandra Hagge of Marshalltown, Kenneth (Jill) Hagge of Ankeny and Robert Hagge of Tama; five grandchildren, Drew (Becky Evans) Schuett, Tyler Schuett, Dax and McKenzie Hagge and Gavin Barton; two great-grandchildren, Treven and Shawna Schuett; his brother-in-law, Lee Brandt of Ankeny; one niece, Melanie Anundsen of Decorah; and one nephew, James Brandt of Ankeny.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and one sister, Mary Brandt in 1998.
