Paul Goodman, 62, of Tama, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2015 at his home under the care of Iowa River Hospice. A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at 6:00 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with Rev. Dewey Grimes officiating. Private Interment will be held at a later date. Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 3, 2015 from 4-6 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.
Paul was born on October 15, 1952 in Marshalltown, Iowa.
He graduated from Whitten High School and was active in track and field and still holds event records.
Paul served his country in the U.S. Army where he was stationed in Germany.
On May 7, 1977, he married Brenda Doran at the Gospel Center Church in Tama and they later divorced.
Paul worked as a metal fabricator at Farmhand in Grinnell and retired in 2005 from Handy Industries in Marshalltown. He was a member of the Club Sport four wheeler club. Paul enjoyed riding and watching his family ride four wheelers and riding his Harley with his friends, Joel, Buck and Justin. He also enjoyed taking care of his lawn and yard, caring for his pets, watching Minnesota Vikings football and mushroom hunting. Paul especially loved spending time with his grandkids and attending their activities.
Survivors include two daughters, Anna (Jamie) Johnson of Tama and Michelle (Richard) Jimenez of Tama; seven grandchildren, Danielle, Kendra, Kaylee, Destinie, Kadyn, Dasia and Kinley; one great-granddaughter, Alana; a special nephew, Justin (Lori) Goodman of Kellogg; and many other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Russell Goodman; one brother, John Goodman; a sister-in-law, Sheryl Huseboe; and his father-in-law, Sam Doran.
A memorial fund has been established.
