TAMA- Paul Ralph Michael, age 59, of Tama died Wednesday, August 1, 2007 following an automobile accident. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2007 at 10:30 AM at the Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with Rev. Karen Norton and Rev. Dewey Grimes officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Tama. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 3 from 4 to 8 PM at the Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.
Paul was born on September 23, 1947 in Waterloo, the son of Ralph and Mary Ellen (Shalz) Michael. He graduated from Waterloo East High School and the Police Academy in Des Moines. Paul also attended Bible College in Ohio. He served his country in Vietnam in the U.S Marines where he saw active duty and received the Purple Heart medal. Paul was previously married to Canduce Spear and Lynne Koch. He married Anne Rebik on April 4, 2004. Paul was a police officer in Tama for two years then moved to the Hudson Police Force, and retired from the Hudson Police Force a few years ago. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Patriot Guard, Rolling Thunder, and attended the Assembly of God Church in Tama.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother Jerry.
Survivors include his wife Anne; children, Tina (Mike) Kennett of Independence, David (Brenda) Michael of Jesup, Stephen (Kerrie) Michael of LaPorte City, Trisha (Terry) King of Rowley, Justin (Darla) Michael of Grinnell, Aaron (Tanya) Michael of Parkersburg, Seth (Stacia) Michael of Sioux Falls, SD, Tim (Judy) Rebik of Marshalltown, and Joe Rebik of Coralville; seventeen grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two brothers, Gene (Linda) Michael of Waverly and Jack Shalz of Meridian, ID; and a sister, Arlene Hicks of Wylie, TX;
