TAMA- Peter S. "Pete" Arp, 69, of Tama, passed away, Saturday, March 26, 2011 at the Belle Plaine Nursing and Rehab Center. A memorial graveside service will be held at a future date at Waltham Cemetery in rural Elberon. Peter has donated his body to the University of Iowa Department of Anatomy.
Peter was born on June 22, 1941, in Clutier, Iowa, the son of Henry and Verna Mae (Frederick) Arp.
He was married to Alberta Glen and they later divorced. Peter was a self employed fence builder. He enjoyed playing cards, visiting with friends and family, and going for rides in the country.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and two brothers, John and Marcus Arp.
Survivors include two sons, Charlie and Joe Arp; two grandchildren; one brother, Arnold Arp of Tama; one sister, Nina Phillips of Sioux Falls, SD; and several nieces and nephews.
Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home, Tama-Toledo, is handling the arrangements.
