Ruth "Elaine" Hutchison, 91, of Tama, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at Sunrise Hill Care Center in Traer. A Private Family Graveside Service will be held at a later date at Crystal Cemetery in rural Garwin.

Ruth was born on February 19, 1932, in Putnam County, Missouri, the daughter of Clifford and Edith (Viles) Ledford.

She graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1950.

On July 31, 1950, she was united in marriage to Harold Hutchison. Elaine formerly worked at the Tama County Assessor office and also Kenn's Photography in Marshalltown. She loved to read and enjoyed being around her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include three children, Michael Hutchison of Clutier, Steven (Sharon) Hutchison of Phoenix, AZ and Peg Hutchison of Tama; her grandchildren, Stacy (Todd) Andree, Bret Hutchison, Lane (Nina) Hutchison, Scott (Candice) Hutchison, Wendy (Dan) Molitor, Erin White, Erica McAdoo and Megan Schwarting; several great-grandchildren; and brother, Lowell (Delores) Ledford of Cedar Rapids.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; and brother, Layton (Catherine) Ledford.
