Ralph Robert "Bob" Moses, 87, of Toledo, passed away Thursday, August 10, 2023 at Sunny Hill Care Center in Tama. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with Pastor David Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Collins, Iowa. A Memorial Visitation will be held Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 12:00 PM until the time of service at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home.
Robert was born on December 16, 1935, in Collins, Iowa, the son of Ralph and Anna (Stevens) Moses.
He graduated from Collins High School in 1953 and then attended two years of college at Iowa State majoring in agriculture before entering the service. Robert served his country in the U.S. Army from October 10, 1955 until September 26, 1957 and then the U.S. Army Reserves until 1961.
On June 8, 1958, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Martin in Woodward, Iowa. Bob worked at GTE in the Tama-Toledo area and Grinnell and then finished in Wisconsin to retire.
Bob was a member of Faith Assembly of God Church in Marshalltown and also attended Grace Believers Church in Toledo. He was a former active member of the Toledo-Tama Kiwanis Club, where he held many offices and was the longtime standing secretary. Bob's service at his churches and the Kiwanis was his passion. He also drove Veterans to their medical appointments for many years. Bob will be remembered as a kind and helping soul.
Survivors include his daughters, Jayne (Bob) Ahlbrandt of Leawood, KS and Lori Grant of Marshalltown; his grandchildren, Tom (Jenny) Ahlbrandt of Leawood, KS, Joe Ahlbrandt of St. Louis, MO, Aaron (Leah) Grant of Williamsburg and Blake (Katie) Grant of Des Moines; five great-grandchildren, Larkin and Rooney, Ava, Ollie and Lenny; his sister-in-law, Joy Moses of Collins; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Marilyn; his son-in-law, Bob Grant; and his brothers, Richard (Beverly) Moses and Darrel Moses.
A memorial fund will be established.
