Ramon C. Fowler, 81, of Tama, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown. A Memorial Gathering and luncheon will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2016 from 12 noon to 4 PM at the State Bank of Toledo Community Room in Toledo.
Ramon was born on September 16, 1935, in rural Tama, Iowa, the son of Clarence and Effie Irene (Davis) Fowler.
He graduated from Tama High School.
Ramon served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War.
On October 8, 1966, he was united in marriage to Nancy Kay Werner in Missouri. Ramon owned and operated Fowler Electric in Toledo for many years. He enjoyed bowling, playing Poker at the casino and playing cards with his family. Ramon also liked watching western movies.
Survivors include his children, Collette Thomas of Onamia, MN, Cathy (fiancé Bob Amos) Morgan of Center Point, Vicky (Shane) White of Chelsea, Scott (Denise) Fowler of Marengo, and Ed (Karen) Haubach of Marshalltown; his stepchildren, Keith (Leslie) Klenk of Shreveport, LA, Jeanie (Mike) Purcell of New Orleans, LA, and Peggy (Peter) Chamberlain of Clarksdale, AZ; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Ron (Sandra) Fowler of Chelsea; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife Nancy on October 12, 2014; two sons, Randy and Craig Fowler; and one sister, Sharon Fowler.
A memorial fund has been established.
