Randolph Papakee Jr., 41, of Tama, passed away Friday, March 24, 2017 at Central Iowa Healthcare in Marshalltown. Traditional Graveside Services will be held Sunday, March 26, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the MacIntosh Cemetery on the Meskwaki Settlement in rural Tama with Larry Lasley Sr. as speaker. A Traditional Wake will be held Saturday evening at Wanda Lasley's Ceremonial Building on the Meskwaki Settlement in rural Tama.
Randolph was born on December 10, 1975, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of Randolph Papakee Sr. and Iris Walker.
He worked as a laborer in construction and as a Ranch hand. Randolph liked to watch boxing, MMA, riding horses and being outdoors. His greatest love was being with his kids.
Survivors include his children, Derick Bear of Marshalltown, Oceana Papakee of Vinton, Jazlyn Papakee of Tama, Delphine and Raiden Papakee both of Nevada; his significant other, Cena Durnin of Nevada; his parents, Ernest and Iris Roberts of Tama; five brothers, Ryan Papakee of Tama, Shannon (Angie) Poafpybitty of Sioux City, Ira (Lana) Roberts of Tama, James and Brenton Roberts both of Tama; three sisters, Rita Papakee, Judith Roberts, and Tatum (Adam) Kapayou all of Tama; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his father, Randolph Papakee Sr.; his paternal grandparents, Richard Papakee and Evelyn Climer, his maternal grandparents, Alexander and Irene Walker; and his great-grandparents, John and Grace Papakee.
