Randy Lee "Schultzie" Schultz was born June 14th, 1957 to Marvin & Elizabeth (Fish) Schultz in Postville, IA. He passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at age 61. Randy grew up in Clutier, IA and graduated in 1975 from North Tama County Community High School. He went on to study Culinary Arts at DMACC and used his degree to pursue a career in food services.

Randy set roots in Tama in 1980 and remained in Tama until his passing. Randy married Laurie Shelton on October 1st, 1993 and became father to her 3 sons Cory, Ryan, and Daniel. Their daughter Carlee was born on April 11th, 1994.

Randy enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, watching Western's and sporting events, cooking, grilling, grilling competitions, smoking meats, cribbage and pepper tournaments, and frequenting the local watering holes. Randy found great joy in cooking for others.

Randy is survived by his wife, Laurie of Tama; daughter, Carlee Hollar (Aleksandr) of Tama; his 3 sons, Cory Shelton (Crystal Thompson) of Tama, Ryan Shelton (Shelby) of Ankeny, and Daniel Shelton of Grinnell; sister, Susan Schultz (Kevin Greiman) of Haverhill; and 8 grandchildren.

Randy was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Kepler; father, Marvin Schultz; stepfather, Max Kepler; and his great friend,  Kevin "Muskie" Mauskemo.

Visitation for Randy will be held on Monday, June 10th, 2019 at the Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama, IA from 9:30-10:30 AM and funeral will follow at 10:30 AM.   A private burial and grave side ceremony will be held in Monona, IA at the Monona Cemetery following the funeral service.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday June 14th, 2019 (Randy's birthday) at the VFW in Tama, IA from 5pm-8pm.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be dedicated for a memorial garden in his honor to be named the "Hosta La Vista Garden".
