Renae Jean Tomlinson, 59, of Traer, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2022 at Cedar Valley Hospice House in Waterloo from a courageous battle with Ovarian Cancer. A Public Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Buckingham Cemetery in rural Traer with Rev. Benjamin Baker officiating. A Celebration of Life gathering will follow at St. Luke Evangelical Lutheran Church in Traer at 12:00 PM.

Renae was born on April 4, 1963, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Wesley and Jeanette (LeFevre) Tomlinson.

She graduated from North Tama High School in 1981. She then graduated from Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo and La' James Beauty School in Cedar Falls. Renae was a licensed insurance agent for Farmers Mutual Insurance in Traer.

Renae was a member of St. Luke Evangelical Lutheran Church in Traer. She loved traveling, especially going on cruises. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and the dogs.

Survivors include one daughter, Haley Harms of Traer; one son, Colby (Kailee) Harms of La Porte City; three grandchildren, Jocelyn and Ryder Harms, and Briar Bandy; her parents, Wesley and Jeanette Tomlinson of Traer; one sister, Wendy (Frank) Powers of Adel; and two nieces, Maddison and Brianna Powers.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Will and Janet Tomlinson, Ralph and Loraine LeFevre; and her beloved dog, Apollo.
