TAMA- Richard S. "Dick" Kriegel, 65, of Tama, passed away Friday, December 3, 2010 at Grinnell Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at 10:30 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Tama. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 6, 2010 from 4-7 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.
Richard was born on November 28, 1945, in Grinnell, Iowa, the son of Sylvester "Buck" and Mabel (Keller) Kriegel.
He graduated from BGM High School.
On August 14, 1965, he was united in marriage to Jo Ann Werner at the Tama Methodist Church. Dick worked at Williams Manufacturing in Tama as a machinist. His hobbies included hunting, woodworking, collecting stamps and coins. He enjoyed the outdoors. Dick was known for his great sense of humor and was always willing to help any friend or neighbor in need. His greatest joy was spending time with and taking care of his family.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann of Tama; three daughters, Kim Morrison of Tennessee, Lori Kriegel of Marshalltown and Deanna (Mark) Smith of State Center; five grandchildren, Samantha, Michelle, Ashley and Christian Morrison and Ty Smith; one great-granddaughter, Dakota Bogue; his siblings, Jerry (JoAnne) Kriegel of Marion, Jim (Dorothy) Kriegel of Tama, Linda (Ernest) Jones of Startex, SC and Dave (Roberta) Kriegel of Brooklyn; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial fund has been established.
