Rita Theresa Jacobsen, 91, of Tama, passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at Premier Estates of Toledo under the care of Hospice Compassus. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 10:30 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama with Father Michael Mescher as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Tama. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2015 from 9:30 AM until the time of service at St. Patrick Catholic Church.

Rita was born on November 5, 1924, in rural Tama, Iowa, the daughter of Herman and Anita (Aldrich) Jacobsen.
She graduated from Tama High School. Rita worked for the Iowa Electric Light & Power Company in Tama until her retirement. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama. Rita enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling with them. She was a very caring person and willing to help those in need.
Survivors include one sister, Patty Ratcliff of Toledo; and one brother, Frances Jacobsen of Toledo.
Preceding her in death were her parents; one sister, Lavonne Jacobsen; and a brother-in-law, Dick Ratcliff.
Memorials may be directed to the Tama County Humane Society.
