Obituary

TAMA-Robert "Bob Epp" Epperly, 66, of Marion formerly of Tama, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2014 at his home under the care of Hospice Compassus. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with Rev. Dewey Grimes officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 4 from 4 - 7 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.



Robert was born on February 11, 1948 in Charles City, IA the son of Leslie and Musetta (Ally) Epperly. He graduated from Thornburg High School. Bob served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was united in marriage to Sharon Knowler on May 15, 1971 in Oskaloosa. Bob worked as a construction lineman, retiring from Windstream Communications in 2010. His hobbies included fishing, riding his Harley Davison motorcycle, and collecting toy cars. He also enjoyed being outdoors and working in his garage.
Survivors include his wife Sharon of Marion; two sons, Chris Epperly of Tama and B.J. (Cindy)
Epperly of Tama; six grandchildren, Kinzee, Kelsey, Kolby, Karlee, Kadence, and Koya; one great-granddaughter, Keyleigh; one brother, Dean (Lucy) Epperly of Williamsburg; and a brother-in-law, James Stout of Sigourney.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a sister, Martha Stout; and a brother-in-law, Steve Barron.
