Robert Calvin Huhn, 93, of Toledo, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 6:00 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with Doug Latham officiating. A Memorial Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 PM on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.


Robert Calvin Huhn was born in Richland Township on September 8, 1924 to Fred S. Huhn and Francis Lucille (Hand) Huhn. In 1930, he moved to Columbia Township where he made his living as a farmer. Bob lived there for seventy-five years. On December 15, 1960 he married Ilo Jean Johnson. In 2006, Bob moved to Toledo and lived with his daughter and son-in-law, until he passed away at Iowa River Hospice Home. Bob enjoyed traveling, and spent his free time in Estes Park, Colorado. He loved people, nobody was ever a stranger. Bob loved having long conversations. He was on the rural school board, and a member of Farm Bureau, Kiwanis Club, and Community of Christ Church.


He is survived by his daughter Grayce Huhn; son-in-law, Terry Morris; granddaughter, Amber Pattchett and her husband, Sean Pattchett; and his nieces and cousins.


Preceding him in death were his parents; wife; and brother, Harvey Huhn.


He was greatly loved by many and dearly missed.
