TAMA-Robert George Youngbear, age 36, of Tama, died Sunday, July 29, 2007 at Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center following an automobile accident.
Traditional Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at 2:00 PM at the McIntosh Cemetery on the Meskwaki Settlement. A Traditional Wake will be held on Monday evening, July 30th at the Bear Clan Ceremonial Building.
Robert George Youngbear was born on August 16, 1970, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of Rolland and Rosalind ( Kapayou) Youngbear.
He attended school at South Tama County School and Flandreau, S.D.
Robert enjoyed working on old cars and being with family.
Preceding him in death were his father, Rolland Youngbear; maternal grandparents, George and Fanny Kapayou; paternal grandparents, Robert and Lucy Youngbear; his uncles, George Kapayou Jr. and Lawrence Benson.
Survivors include his mother, Rosalind Youngbear of Tama; one daughter, Courtney Youngbear; two sisters, Laureen Puentes of Montour and Jeanette Youngbear of San Antonio, TX; one brother, James D. Youngbear of Tama; several nephews and nieces; several cousins; and two aunts, Georgia Keraghan and Angie Kapayou both of Tama.
Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home, Tama-Toledo is handling the arrangements.
