Ronald E. Bartling, 75, of Toledo, passed away Friday, March 15, 2013 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at 10:30 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with Jerry McAdoo officiating. Interment will be held at a future date. Visitation will be held Monday, March 18, 2013 from 5-7 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home.
Ronald was born on December 31, 1937, on the family farm in rural Toledo, the son of Emil H. and Lily (Ballhorn) Bartling.
On August 23, 1961, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Gould. Ronald worked at Gra-Iron Foundry in Marshalltown and also as a hired farmhand. He liked fishing, mushroom hunting, and woodworking.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Marilyn in 1999; one sister, Lorene Yanda; and two brothers, Richard and Merle Bartling.
Survivors include two daughters, Kim (Steve) McAdoo of Toledo, and Rhonda (Josef Ahrens) Fridley of Bandera, TX; two grandchildren, Lane and Nathan McAdoo; his siblings, LaRue Atchison of Toledo, LaDean Watters of Toledo, LaVerne (Shirley) Bartling of Tama, Shirley (Dave) Schultz of Grinnell, Arlene (Leonard) Starits of Toledo, Darlene (Richard) Ervin of Tama, Larry (Shirley) Bartling of Tama, and Roger (Mary) Bartling of Toledo; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
A memorial fund has been established.
