Ronald Craig Feisel, 71, of Tama, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at Unity Point Health-Marshalltown. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 30, 2019 at 10:30 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with Pastor Warren Riley officiating. Interment will follow at Haven Cemetery in rural Tama. Visitation will be held Friday, November 29, 2019 from 5-7 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home.
Ronald was born on December 31, 1947, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of Harry Lee and Loraine (Greer) Feisel.
Ronald served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
On April 17, 1965, he was united in marriage to Sara Wiese in Lancaster, Missouri. Ron worked for the Chemetron Rail Welding Company in Tama and then Holland Company where he was an Operations Manager of Stationary Welding. His passion was farming and he also owned and operated Feisel Repair which was a tractor repair business. Ron was a member of the American Legion and a lifetime member of VFW. He was a supporter of the Tama County Humane Society. His hobbies included gardening, trapping, fishing, and camping. He enjoyed watching TV in his later years, old westerns and NASCAR. Ron had a usual route everyday taking a drive and visiting the grain elevator.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-four years, Sara of Tama; his children, Julie (Ted) Phillips of Oelwein, Timmy (Tiffany) Feisel of Traer, and Amy Feisel (Kyle Downs) of Marshalltown; seven grandchildren, Mathew Kanour, Danielle Kanour, Elliot Phillips, Clayton (Megan) Blocker, Carlee Feisel, Conway Feisel, and Chloe Feisel; two great-granddaughters, Lauren and Elizabeth Blocker; one sister, Linda Bostian of Williamsburg; several nieces and nephews; and two grand dogs, Shelby and Staley.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one sister, Nancy Smouse; and one nephew, Kevin Risner.
Memorials may be directed to the family or the Tama Ambulance Service.
