Rose Marie Sheda Ortiz, 57, of Oskaloosa and formerly of Chelsea, passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2016, at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 3 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama. Interment will be private at a future date at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Chelsea. Visitation will be held Saturday, August 6, 2016 from 1-3 PM prior to the service at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home.

Rose was born on February 12, 1959, in Marengo, Iowa, the daughter of Ludvick and Mary Ann (Behounek) Sheda.
She graduated from South Tama in the Class of 1977 and received her Associate's Degree from Marshalltown Community College.
Rose was formerly employed at the Meskwaki Bingo and Casino and helped her dad in the fur business considering herself the "fastest muskrat skinner west of the Mississippi." Rose liked traveling, road trips, music, Bingo, and going to the casino. Her greatest joy was time spent with her family.
Survivors include her significant other, Bob Beadle of Oskaloosa; four children, Crystall Ortiz of Tama, Ludy (Jillisa) Ortiz of Toledo, Joseph (Amanda) Ortiz of Tama, and Eric Ortiz (Chloe Canfield) of Lincoln; four grandchildren, Jameson, Isabella, AJ, and Atreyu; her siblings, Barb Johannsen of Reinbeck, Tom (Roberta) Sheda of St. Louis, MO, Patty Sheda of Tama, and Sam Sheda of Reinbeck; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and her brother-in-law, Gordon Johannsen.
