Ruby Hernandez Resendez, 24, of Tama, passed away Friday, September 9, 2022 at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, September 16, 2022 at 10:30 AM at the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama with Father Michael McAndrew as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Tama. Visitation will be held prior to the Mass on Friday September 16, 2022 from 8:00-10:00 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.

Ruby was born on November 17, 1997, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Rogelio Resendez and Teresa Perez Medina.

She was united in marriage to Salvador Hernandez Sanchez in Tama on May 16, 2017. Ruby attended St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama and formerly St. Mary's in Marshalltown. She enjoyed cooking but her greatest joy was her family and taking care of her kids.

Survivors include her husband, Salvador Hernandez Sanchez of Tama; two boys, Andres and Fernando Hernandez Resendez at home; her parents, Rogelio Resendez and Teresa Perez Medina; siblings, Gustavo Vega Perez of Mexico, Maria (Juan) Ruiz-Vega of Des Moines, Rogelio (Ofelia) Resendez of Des Moines and Carlos Velazquez Perez of Mexico; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
