Shain Leonard Zigler, 46, of Swisher, passed away Friday, June 30, 2023 at Unity Point Health-St. Lukes Hospital in Cedar Rapids. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, July 7, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with David Zigler officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, July 7, 2023 from 2-3 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Shain will be cremated after the services.

Shain was born on April 1, 1977, in Grinnell, Iowa, the son of Gary and Patricia (Lenhart) Zigler.

He graduated from South Tama High School in 1994 and Universal Technical Institute in Lisle, IL in 1996, graduating in the top ten of his class. Shain was employed at Iowa Repair and Machine in Fairfax as a diesel mechanic. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially with his Grandpa, Don Lenhart. Shain liked fixing things and taking his daughter to the shooting range. They also enjoyed bicycle riding together.

Survivors include his daughter, Brittney Zigler of Platteville, WI; his parents, Gary and Patty Zigler of Tama; brother, Shace (Diego) Zigler of Lake Elmo, MN; sisters, Shannon Dobbs of Tama and Sharissa Wolf of Tama; and several cousins, aunts and uncles.

Preceding him in death were his grandparents; brother, Shawn Zigler; nephew, Kyaus Davenport; and niece, Keagan Dobbs.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
