Shawn David Youngbear, 48, of Cedar Rapids, passed away, Sunday, December 3, 2023 at his home. A Traditional Wake will be held Tuesday evening, December 5, 2023 at the Bear Clan Ceremonial Building on the Meskwaki Settlement. A Traditional Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Meskwaki Cemetery.

Shawn was born on November 16, 1975, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of David Youngbear and Karen Gladwin.

On March 22, 2001, he married Keri Boots. Shawn worked in construction. He enjoyed putting together motorcycles, listening to music and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Keri Youngbear; sons, Abel, Micah, Miko and Mark Youngbear; daughters, Shea, Summer, Rosie and Mina Youngbear; granddaughters, Kamryn Brown, Monroe Orange-Youngbear, Aurora and Aubree Youngbear; grandsons, Ozzy Lee and Oynx Youngbear, Chandler Bear; sisters, Lisa Gladwin and Penny Jo Youngbear; and brothers, Bumper and Jason Gladwin; and his mother, Karen.

He was preceded in death by his father, David Youngbear.
