Stanley Eugene Graff, 62, of Tama, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2022 at his home due to a sudden illness. Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 24, 2022, at 10:00 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Tama with Pastor Warren Riley officiating. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in rural Tama. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 23, 2022 from 4-7 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.
Stanley was born on March 23, 1960, in Grinnell, Iowa, the son of Paul and Beverly (Murty) Graff.
He graduated from South Tama High School in 1978.
On November 7, 1981, he was united in marriage to Ellen Daniel at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Tama. Stan was employed by the telephone company starting with GTE, Iowa Telecom and then Windstream, retiring as an office technician last year.
Stan was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Tama, where he was a former council president and was very active in other capacities. He was also a member of the Sons of the American Legion. Stan was formerly active on the Tama Zoning Commission and Columbia Township Board, being available whenever there was a need. He loved woodworking, fishing and hunting. His garden was his pride and joy, but Stan's greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and family.
Survivors include his wife of forty years, Ellen of Tama; his children, Kelle (Jake) Johannsen of Traer and Bryan (Stephanie) Graff of Tama; six grandchildren, Clayton, Emma, Cale, Isabelle, Amelia and Adalyn; his siblings, Gail (Frank) Blaha of Gold River, CA, Rod (Penny) Graff of Toledo, Sheryl (Jack) Aguilar of Marshalltown and Carol (Mike) Crawford of Marshalltown; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dogs, Oreo and Macy.
Preceding him in death were his parents; nephew, Tommy Graff; and his dogs, Blue and Dakota.
A memorial fund will be established.
