Stanley Jay Zeutenhorst, 62, of Brooklyn, Iowa, died unexpectedly Thursday, May 25, 2017. Funeral Services will be Tuesday May 30, 2017 at 10:30 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 900 Park Street in Tama with Pastor Dorothy Banzhaf of Kent Union Church in Brooklyn officiating. Stan will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery in Tama. Visitation will be held Monday, May 29, 2017 from 4-7 PM at St. Patrick Catholic Church.

Stan was born on January 24, 1955 to JoAnna Vlietstra in Orange City, Iowa. He was cared for and raised by Ken and Pat Kolpin of Tama. He graduated from South Tama High School in 1973. Stan married his high school sweetheart Becky Lynne Thomas on August 25, 1973. Stan volunteered for the Tama Ambulance and Fire Department, and Holiday Lake Board of Directors. He worked for Maytag Corporation and is owner of S and B Properties and S and B Builders in the Tama area. Stan's true passion was his family. His wife of 43 years, his boys, his daughters-in-law, and his grandchildren were most important to him. Stan was an avid Hawkeye fan, enjoyed driving the golf cart with his grandkids and driving the school bus for the South Tama School District in retirement.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife Becky of Brooklyn; sons, Zachary (Shannon) Zeutenhorst and their children Braydon, Brody, and Kaycee of Ankeny, Zoshua (Maria) Zeutenhorst and their children Anya, Mila, and Luna of Hiawatha; his foster mother, Pat Kolpin; his siblings, Joan Denver, Randy Zeutenhorst, Russ Zeutenhorst, Lee Marvin, Bob Zeutenhorst, Michelle Musgrave, Mike Kolpin, Matt Kolpin and their spouses; and many nieces and nephews.

In death he was rejoined with his birth mother, JoAnna Vlietstra, his foster father, Ken Kolpin; his siblings, Howard Zeutenhorst, Ruth Conners, and Larry Zeutenhorst; and his father and mother-in-law, Bob and Gerry Thomas.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to South Tama Dollars for Scholars, Holiday Lake playground fund or Holiday Lake fish committee, in Stan's name.
