Stephanie Marie Behaunek, 49, of Tama, passed away Friday, June 7, 2024 at UnityPoint Health-Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. There will be no public services at this time.

Stephanie was born on May 1, 1975, in Andalusia, Illinois.

She received her GED and attended nursing school.

On October 27, 2020, she married Gary Behaunek in Tama, Iowa. Stephanie worked her way up from CNA to a Medical Assistant at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown. She liked to put together model cars, quilting, coloring and doing anything she could with her hands. She enjoyed baking and cooking with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Gary of Tama; daughter, Meranda Morgan (Mythias Keahna) of the Meskwaki Settlement; grandchildren, Duane Keahna, Leo Keahna and Evelynn Keahna; siblings, Tammy Padavich of Long Grove, IA, Jason Heimann of Moline, IL and Deana (Jason) Speer of Bryant, AR; sisters-in-law, Billie Jo Behaunek of Lexington, NE and Samantha Albertson of St. Louis, MO; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her "Granny" Virginia Lee Ross; brother-in-law, Troy Padavich; and aunt, Mary Lamar.
