Obituary

Steve "Rosy" Rosenberger, 66, of Tama, went home to the Lord on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at his home in Tama under the care of his family and Grinnell Regional Hospice after a courageous battle with cancer. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Tama with Pastor Warren Riley officiating. A Memorial Visitation will be held Friday, December 15, 2017 from 4-7 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama.

Steve was born on December 8, 1951, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of George and Ethel (Burnes) Rosenberger.

He graduated from South Tama High School in 1970.

On February 2, 1973, he was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Linda Linville at the Montour Methodist Church. Steve was a brick layer and cement mason starting with Albert Kremenak and then went into business for himself at Rosenberger Masonry. He then worked for Twin City Construction. Steve was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Tama and the Tama-Toledo Country Club for many years. He was a talented craftsman that left his mark all over the Tama-Toledo area.
Rosy liked cooking for his family, watching and playing golf and sports, and cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes and STC Trojans. His greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren. Rosy had a great sense of humor that conveyed a very positive outlook on life.

Survivors include his wife of forty-four years, Linda of Tama; his parents, George and Ethel Rosenberger of Tama; his children, Leigh Sauer of Henderson, NV, Todd (Meg) Rosenberger of Tama, Lesley (Ryan) Mathes of Parkville, MO, and Ty (Tamara) Rosenberger of Toledo; son-in-law, Louie Sauer of Henderson, NV; twelve grandchildren, Hailey and Jenna Sauer, Clayton, Clarissa, and Cade Rosenberger, Owen, Eli, and Grace Mathes, Tylese, Trusten, Takia, and Taviah Rosenberger; his siblings, Darcy (Dan) Ferguson of Cedar Rapids, Scott (Teed) Rosenberger of Tama, Stuart Rosenberger of Belle Plaine, and Shane Rosenberger of Coralville; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his paternal and maternal grandparents.
