Steven William Horrigan, 74, of Tama, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2024 at UnityPoint Health-St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with Pastor Charles Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Haven Cemetery in rural Tama. Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 17, 2024 from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.

Steve was born on September 14, 1950, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the son of Kenneth and Nadine (Huryta) Horrigan.

He graduated from South Tama County High School in 1969.

Steven was married to Connie Parcel and to this union were born Bill and Wendy. He then married Frances Cox and to this union they were blessed with Reyna. On September 14, 2019, he was united in marriage to Laurie Kriegel at the Haven Church in rural Tama.

Steve was employed by the Tama Pack from 1974-1991, and then trucked for ten years. He also helped his dad on the farm with cattle and had a dog Clyde, which only liked him. Steve was a junker and had a scrap pile. He was always fixing or tinkering and would reuse parts from something to use in another. He always said, "why buy new-when junk will do." Steve enjoyed watching the shows, Pawn Stars, American Pickers, and always watched Gun Smoke.

Survivors include his wife, Laurie Kriegel of Tama; son, Bill (Lisa) Horrigan of Ely; daughter, Reyna (Joe) Dvorak of Belle Plaine; nine grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and two sisters, Judy Harrigan and Marcia Harrigan.

Preceding him in death were his parents; daughter, Wendy Trevizo; and a stillborn sister, Rosalie Horrigan.
