TAMA-Tamara S. (Freland) Peterson Edwards, age 40, of Canton, IL and formerly of Tama, died suddenly Friday, February 1, 2008 at her home. Traditional Graveside Services will be held on Sunday, February 3, 2008 at 2:00 PM at the Meskwaki Cemetery on the Settlement in rural Tama with Larry C. Lasley Sr. as speaker. A Traditional Wake was held on Saturday evening at the Fox Clan Ceremonial Building on the Meskwaki Settlement, rural Tama.
Tamara was born on June 20, 1967, in Marshalltown, the daughter of John Freland and Katherine Davenport. She loved the Snoopy character from Peanuts, and enjoyed scrapbooking and drawing.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Katherine Davenport; her brother, Martin Davenport; grandparents, Martin and Louise Morgan Davenport; and uncles, Michael Davenport, Larry Davenport, Merlin Davenport, and Robert Davenport.
Survivors include her children, Brayden and Autumn Peterson of Marshalltown; her father, John Freland of LeGrand; one sister, Julie (Todd) Skala of Toledo; one brother, David (Nora) Freland of Wyoming; many aunts and uncles; and numerous relatives.
