TAMA – Terence Wanatee, age 43 of Tama died Thursday, November 15, 2007 at North Country Regional Hospital in Bemidji, Minnesota following a sudden illness.
Traditional Graveside Services will be held Sunday, November 18, 2007 at 1:00 PM at the Meskwaki Cemetery on the Meskwaki Settlement with Michael Keahna, as speaker. A Traditional Wake was held Saturday evening at the Galen Wanatee residence on the settlement.
Terence was born on March 30, 1964 in Des Moines, the son of Gailey and Naomi (Slick) Wanatee. He attended South Tama County Schools. Terence enjoyed his work as a freelance artist. He also enjoyed farming and liked to fish. Terence was a true Hawkeye fan and also loved being outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gailey Wanatee.
Survivors include his mother Naomi Wanatee of Tama; two brothers, Galen Wanatee and Troy Wanatee both of Tama; four sisters, Galene Johnson and Diahann Wanatee both of Tama, Patsy Wanatee of Washington state, and Judy Johns of Oklahoma; and many cousins, nephews, and nieces.
