Thomas John "Skip" Donovan, 55, of Tama, passed away Thursday, November 1, 2018 at the Iowa River Hospice Home in Marshalltown. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held Friday, November 9, 2018 from 3-5 PM at the Tama-Toledo Country Club. Please feel free to wear Hawkeyes or Cubs attire.

Thomas was born on September 24, 1963, in Iowa City, Iowa and was adopted by Bill and Marion (Best) Donovan.

He graduated from Belle Plaine High School.

Thomas formerly worked for Manatts Inc. for twenty-three years. He was a member of the Tama-Toledo Country Club and I Club. Thomas was an avid Hawkeye and Cubs fan and he enjoyed NASCAR. He also liked playing cards and loved his dogs.

Survivors include his significant other, Jane Murphy of Tama; two sisters, Maria Donovan of Belle Plaine, and Kiki Donovan of Hiawatha; three nieces, Marisa Schilling, Megan Rieck, and Amanda Donovan; one nephew, Shane Rieck; one great-niece, Lillian Schilling; one great-nephew, Keegan Schilling; and several cousins.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Iowa River Hospice or the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital.
