CEDAR RAPIDS-Veronica Marie Houser, 90, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at UnityPoint Health Living Center West in Cedar Rapids. A Private Graveside Service will be held at the National Cemetery in Vining, IA.

Veronica was born August 5, 1935, in Prague, Czechoslovakia, the daughter of Lester and Antonia (Kriva) Formanek. Her marriage to Michael Wiggins produced a daughter, Doreen. Her marriage to Phillip Claussen produced sons, Mervin, Kevin, and Todd. Veronica was also married to Theodore Bishoff, Richard Houser, and Jim Hawkins. Veronica retired from Midland Forge, Cedar Rapids, in 2001.

Left to honor her memory are her son, Todd (Bonnie) Claussen, grandchildren, Phillip, Amanda, Daniel, Breanna, Zachary, Lucas, Callyn, and Courtney, her siblings, Dollie Barkdoll, Geri Barkdoll, and Geno Formanek.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her children Doreen, Mervin, and Kevin; and her sister-in-law, Barb Formanek.

Thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff at UnityPoint Health Living Center West and UnityPoint Hospice for their compassionate care toward Veronica.
