Victor "John" Girsch, 61, of Tama, passed away Friday, February 3, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Rector Cemetery in rural Chelsea with Pastor Charles Johnson officiating.

He was born on September 5, 1955, in Manchester, Iowa, the son of Pauline Wooner Girsch. On November 8, 1974, he was united in marriage to Brenda Kasal. They had two sons Chris (Tonya) Girsch and Kyle (girlfriend Helen) Girsch both of Tama and later two granddaughters, Hailey and Hannah Girsch. John enjoyed riding mules and horses. He absolutely loved spending time with Hailey and Hannah. He all around loved his family time.
John is survived by his two sons; a daughter-in-law; and two granddaughters. Additionally, he is survived by two brothers, David of Missouri and James from California and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death by his wife, Brenda; mother, Pauline; and sister, June.
A memorial fund has been established.
