Obituary

TAMA – Virginia Ann Werner, age 88, of Tama died Saturday, December 1, 2007 at Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center following a short illness. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2007 at 10:30 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with Pastor Ron Arends officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Tama. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 5 from 5 to 7 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama,
Virginia was born on September 11, 1919 in Belle Plaine, the daughter of Anton and Julia (Zeman) Parizek. She attended country school until she had to quit to help support her family. On January 17, 1940, Virginia was united in marriage to Everett Werner. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Eagles Auxiliary, and was a past member of C.B. radio club and women's bowling league. Virginia enjoyed traveling and spent winters in Texas with her husband Everett until he passed away. She loved to cook, fish, and spend time with her extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Everett; daughter, Joyce Werner; two brothers, Melvin and Paul Parizek; and a daughter-in-law, Sherry Werner.
Survivors include her son, Larry Werner of Toledo; two sisters, Barbara (Robert) Prusha of Marshalltown, and Mary Ann (the late George) Tichy of LeGrand; three grandchildren, Nanette Jeffries of Pico Rivera, California, Everett Werner of Tama, Shaune Bartoo of Big Sandy, Texas; step granddaughter, Renee Fenton of Sperry; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
