TAMA-Wilford Leslie Blackcloud (A ko ga), 76, of the Meskwaki Settlement, rural Tama died Saturday, October 23, 2010 at his home. Traditional Graveside Services will be held Monday, October 25, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Meskwaki Cemetery in rural Tama with Homer Bear Jr. as speaker. There will be a wake Sunday evening, October 24, 2010 at the Bear Clan Ceremonial Building in rural Tama.
Wilford was born on August 2, 1934, in Tama, Iowa, the son of George and Me Si Ko Na (Mitchell) Blackcloud.
He graduated from Tama High School.
He was married to Bernice Ghosthear and they later divorced.
Wilford was previously employed by Iowa Manufacturing in Cedar Rapids. He enjoyed sports and playing cards.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Truman Blackcloud and Arthur Blackcloud Sr.; and three sisters, Bertha Davenport, Anna Mae Ward and Eva Scott.
Survivors include his daughter, Connie Rae Blackcloud of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren, Davina Blackcloud of Buffalo, NY, Lambert Hatfield of Memphis, TN, Lance Blackcloud of Cedar Rapids, Aletha Pirtle of MN, Henry Blackcloud of MN and Cedric Blackcloud of Buffalo, NY; his nephews, Garry Davenport Sr., Harvey Davenport Jr., Larry, Frank and Dale Blackcloud; his nieces, Marilyn, Reba, Connie and Arlene Blackcloud, Sharon Mauskemo, Wanda Kapayou and Cynthia Morgan.
