Willard Coleman "Willy" Barker, age 69, of Toledo, passed away peacefully on April 1, 2026, surrounded by his family, from complications of Parkinson's disease. He was born on December 5, 1956. A Graveside Service will be held Friday, April 3, 2026 at 10:00 AM at National Cemetery in rural Vining.
Willy served honorably in the United States Marine Corps and remained proud of his service throughout his life. He also served his community as a volunteer firefighter with the Toledo Iowa Fire Department. He went on to work in a variety of roles, including Lennox, Tama County Employment Options, where he helped individuals with disabilities find work, the Iowa Juvenile Home, and in maintenance at Meskwaki Casino.
Willy had a positive attitude and a natural sense of humor. He was a jokester who could make people laugh and bring light to any situation. He also had a creative side and was a talented stippling artist. In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking, collecting antiques, and fishing.
Willy is survived by his wife, Patti Barker; his children, Michelle (Jason) McGuire, Missy (Clay Smith), John (Michelle) Kalinay, Jolene Kalinay, and Nick (Megan) Kalinay; along with many grandchildren and a great-grandson. He is also survived by his brother, sisters, and extended family, including cousins.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Memorials may be directed to the Tama-Toledo Christian School.
