CLUTIER-William A. Schelker, age 44, of Clutier, died on January 15, 2007 at his home due to a sudden illness. Memorial Services will be held Thursday, January 18, 2007 at 10:30 AM at the Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Tama. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
William A. Schelker was born on December 31, 1962, in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of William A. and Vivian (Henderson) Schelker.
He graduated from North Tama in1981. He then attended and graduated from Buena Vista College with a degree in education.
William was employed at Swift working in the maintenance department. He was also engaged in farming. His hobbies included hunting pheasant, deer and mushrooms. William loved to spend his time outdoors during both work and play. In addition, he liked to play cards. William was a beloved uncle and devoted to his family. He was very proud of his nephews and great-nephew.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and one sister, Rene in infancy.
Survivors include one sister, Kim Rice (Alex Williams) of Toledo; nephews, Erik Musel and Will Rice; and great nephew, Adin Holven-Rice.
A memorial fund has been established. Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home, Tama-Toledo is handling the arrangements.
